Caparzo Brunello di Montalcino La Casa 2012 – Released This Weekend at Vintages – $79.95 –
“Exclusively from the Montosoli hill on the north side of Montalcino, a historically celebrated site, made mostly from vines planted in 1986, with a small part of younger vines, 18 years old. This is refined, fine, elegant, sapid and succulent, clearly a fine and superior terroir. A gorgeous perfume leads off the top, featuring floral, spicy, herbal, and dried fruit elements, both red and black and even a touch of blue – this is really showing well at the moment. The palate is perfectly mid-weight, with super-fine tannins and exceptional length. A Brunello of very high class indeed, enjoyable now or hold into the late ’20s. Tasted November 2019.
