Location is everything in the hills of Barolo – The Gianfranco Bovio Winery crafts delicious Cru Barolo from the Gattera and Arborina vineyard in the village of La Morra in Barolo.
The Bovio wines come loaded with rich, generous Nebbiolo fruit, and a pure crystalline silky texture. Traditional treatment in the cellar—fermentation with native yeast and long aging in Slavonian oak casks keep the process delightfully old school.

2017 Bovio Barolo Riserva De-Rieumes – $139.95 per bottle – six packs.  96 Points – Decanter
“Alessandra Bovio’s Riserva from 2017 is a blend of Arborina, Gattera and Parussi, aged for 24 months in oak and finished in concrete for around seven months. Aromas of rose, leather, tar, a lot of minty character, dried cherry and balsamic depth lead to a palate full of sucrosity. This is extremely precise, full, warming, and with some of the greatest tannins tasted in the 2017 vintage. Thick on the finish, there is a lot of meat on the bones here. Will age gracefully.”
