THE BRIGHT, SHINY NEW NAPA VALLEY 2018’S

“There are so many 2018s that are simply mind-blowing. But what stands out most about the 2018s is their consistency. It is very hard to go wrong with a bottle of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.” Antonio Galloni Vinous Media.

“The pure harmony and unprecedented balance in the well-made 2018s, both red and white, are very special and it’s hard to think of a better vintage for those looking for finesse and refinement in their young wines from Napa.” James Suckling

“I’ve found the best of the best 2018 reds to have rock-solid structures with firm, ripe tannins and a lot of freshness. The nuanced fruit profiles promise an ability for these wines to develop considerably with age. As always, I’m conservative with my drinking windows, but I think it is safe to say that many of the best Cabernet Sauvignon-based 2018s should be able to cellar beautifully for 40 to 50 years or more.” Lisa Perrotti Brown, The Wine Advocate

2018 LAIL VINEYARDS CABERNET SAUVIGNON BLUEPRINT NAPA VALLEY – 94 POINTS JEB DUNNUCK. $132.95 PER BOTTLE

“As with the whites, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Blueprint is a larger production release that sports a dense purple color as well as classic Cabernet notes of blue and black fruits, green tobacco, graphite, and spring flowers. With a more fruit-forward style, it’s still rich, medium to full-bodied, has classy tannins, and is a seriously good bottle of wine.”

2018 LAIL VINEYARDS CABERNET SAUVIGNON J. DANIEL CUVEE – 99 POINTS ROBERT PARKER. 100 POINTS JEB DUNNUCK. $429.95 PER BOTTLE

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon J. Daniel Cuvee comes from a mix of terroirs (Howell Mountain, Stags Leap, Oakville, Calistoga) and is brought up in 75% new French oak. Heavenly notes of red and black currants, dried tobacco, sandalwood, flowers, and spice give way to a full-bodied, concentrated, yet weightless texture that carries awesome tannins,no hard edges and just flawless balance. This majestic, regal wine is going to drink brilliantly for 25 years or more.”—Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com

“Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 J. Daniel Cuvée Cabernet Sauvignon was aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, 75% new. Very deep garnet-purple in color, it soars out of the glass with seductive notes of crème de cassis, blueberry preserves and Black Forest cake, followed by suggestions of espresso, yeast extract, black truffles and charcoal plus a fragrant waft of violets. Full-bodied, rich and opulently fruited in the mouth, it has layer upon layer of black fruit preserves, earthy nuances and savory sparks, framed by firm, finely grained tannins and bold freshness, finishing long and fragrant. 1,290 cases were made.” Robert Parker

2018 DARIOUSH SIGNATURE CABERNET SAUVIGNON, NAPA VALLEY

The hallmark of Darioush Signature Cabernet Sauvignon is its seamlessness, the ideal balance of fruit, structure and composure. A result of decades of meticulous vineyard management of our cooler climate, Southern Napa Valley sites, our estate vineyards in the Mount Veeder, Coombsville and Napa Valley AVA’s have hit their stride, producing wines with splendid concentration, freshness and complexity.

Focused and more high-toned, with layers of fresh Bing cherry and black currant wrapped around a core of savory earth and cocoa. The youthful fruit intensity and polished tannins of this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon are impeccably balanced, providing breadth and structure while scents of wild sage, lead pencil and star anise reveal the wines’ Mount Veeder components.
