2020 DOMAINE BORIS CHAMPY OFFER

“There is something special brewing here,” wrote Neal Martin of Vinous about Champy’s attention-grabbing namesake domaine. He went on, raving about how Boris’s work with in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune “frankly rewrote everything I thought possible. It is not exaggeration or hyperbole to say that they are equal to many Premier Crus that I tasted.”

Boris Champy’s career was a study in brilliance even before this latest venture. He spent 10 years at the iconic Napa estate Dominus before becoming technical director for Louis Latour. Afterwards he took over estate management of the Côte de Nuits property Clos de Lambrays “one of Burgundy’s oldest and most famous Grand Crus,” according to Vinous.

In 2018, he put a plan into motion to acquire Domaine Montchovet in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, which was the first Burgundy estate to receive Demeter certification—the world’s gold standard in biodynamic farming.

Late January delivery.
