“A BLOODY GREAT BEAUMONT”

Beaumont

2019 Chateau Beaumont:
Under the same ownership as the great St Julien property, Château Beychevelle, this is a property that has long represented superb value-for-money. Located on the left bank of the Gironde, between the communes of Margaux and Saint-Julien, Château Beaumont draws its finesse and its delicacy from the deep gravels of the best soils of the Haut-Médoc.

2019 Chateau Beaumont – Haut Medoc – Cru Bourgeois – Bordeaux.
“The 2019 Beaumont impresses on the nose with intense blackberry and briary aromas, sous-bois and tobacco, all whilst maintaining its delineation. The palate is supple and silky on the entry. There is well judged acidity, plenty of cedar and seaweed, tinged black fruit and a spicy finish. Now, this is a bloody great Beaumont. 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot
91-93pts Neal Martin, vinous.com.
Drink: 2023-2040

The 2019 Vintage in Bordeaux:
“Harmony, balance and freshness are definitely the hallmarks of the 2019 after tasting and rating almost 1,500 Bordeaux from the vintage. The reds in general have a cool fruit character to them, despite the hot grape-growing season, and they also show fine, integrated tannins and bright finishes. They were extremely aromatic and perfumed from the outset, with complexity in fruit and soil-derived nuances such as flowers, wet earth, mushrooms and bark” James Suckling.

Late May arrival.
