G de GUIRAUD

This is a dry white made by Sauternes producer Château Guiraud. Château Guiraud is one of the few properties to be located within the village of Sauternes itself (the only other being its illustrious neighbour Château Yquem). Alongside sweet wines they also produce an organic dry white, It’s a blend of 50% Semillon and 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 80% of which has been fermented in barrels previously used for Sauternes, and 20% in stainless steel. The result is a complex wine that’s rich but also chiseled, good acidity under the compact citrus fruit with a touch of pear and a white peach richness, notes of wild flowers, ripe Seville oranges, and plenty of grapefruit zest. Despite the generosity of the fruit, the palate has zingy acidity, and lovely texture. This is a brilliant G de Guiraud.
