BORDEAUX MUST BUY
One of the most sought-after values in Bordeaux, Chateau Marjosse is the personal vineyard of Pierre Lurton, Managing Director for Cheval Blanc and d’Yquem.
The 2019 red Marjosse is made up of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc with a splash of old vines Malbec from his personal estate close to Saint Emilion. Rich, deep and beautifully layered in the glass, the 2019 is incredibly appealing.
We’re also offering his delicious Sauvignon, Semillon blend. Pierre dialed back the production and it’s paid huge dividends with the quality of his “little wines”. Both Antonio Galloni and Robert Parker have called this a must buy.
2019 Chateau Marjosse – Bordeaux – $33.95 per bottle. 12 packs. 90-92 Points Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
“Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Marjosse has a come-hither nose of kirsch, stewed black cherries and warm plums with hints of spice cake, wilted roses, oolong tea and Sichuan pepper. The medium-bodied palate is plushy textured with bags of scrumptious black and red fruits and a lively backbone, finishing fragrant.”
2021 Chateau Marjosse Blanc – Bordeaux – $29.95 per bottle per bottle. 12 packs.
90 Points Antonio Galloni Vinous Media
“Just bottled, the 2022 Marjosse Blanc is a crisp, dry white for drinking over the next year or two. Citrus, white flowers, mint and chalk all grace this chiseled, steely white from Pierre Lurton’s Marjosse estate.”
James Suckling: 92 Points
“A fresh and bright white with sliced lemon and lime character. Medium body. Crisp and delicious with green melon, apple and light lime at the end.”
“The real takeaway from what I tasted is that 2021 is an absolutely brilliant vintage for white Bordeaux.” Jancis Robinson.
