The organic Tenuta Le Colonne 2023 Bolgheri Rosso is a blend of 50% Merlot, 30% Petit Verdot and 20% Cabernet Franc sourced from vineyards planted on sandy and fluvial soils rich in stones. The wine shows dark fruit and fine concentration with a savory edge that is underlined by minerality that recalls petrichor and graphite, giving the wine verticality and elegant, dusty tannins. Shaped by the warm coastal climate of Bolgheri, the 2023 vintage balances ripeness with freshness, despite the season’s heat. With 110,000 bottles produced, this wine offers an easy-to-find and excellent expression of Bolgheri character.

Tenuta Le Colonne forms part of Tenuta Meraviglia, itself under the umbrella of Dievole in Chianti Classico, and represents a complementary expression of the Bolgheri coast. While Tenuta Meraviglia is almost exclusively dedicated to Cabernet Franc grown on rare volcanic soils, Tenuta Le Colonne is characterized by mixed soil types and focuses on the principal grape varieties of the Bolgheri appellation, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot in addition to Cabernet Franc.
